Briefing the media about the details of Shah's two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, A.P. Maheshwari, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs and B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, state Chief Secretary, said the Home Minister has directed that there should be continued strict action against terror funding.

In addition to meeting family of Anantnag terror attack martyr Arshad Khan, Shah chaired unified headquarters meeting of the security grid in Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed law and order as well as security situation in the state. Jammu & Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik was present at the meeting as well.

Shah also laid emphasis on PM Modi's flagship schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Kaushal Vikas Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana.

Signifying the importance given to Jammu and Kashmir by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah Wednesday chose the state for his maiden visit after assuming office and reviewed the security situation.

A Border Security Force (BSF) plane carrying the Home Minister landed at the technical area of Srinagar airport at 3.15 p.m. Shah is accompanied by a high-ranking team of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which includes Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba.

"A special prayer is being organised by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board in which Shah will take part at the Cave Shrine today," the source said.
